Open audition for the world premiere of WHAT ARE YOU? Co-presented by Asian Story Theater with Teatro Mascara Magica and San Diego Black Ensemble Theatre. WHAT ARE YOU? is the complicated game of growing up hapa-, multiple-, or mixed-race in modern America, through skits, videos, live music, and celebrity impersonations.
We are looking for actors of any ethnicity to play multiple roles in multiple scenes, though especially performers who have all or part Latinx, African American, or Asian/Pacific Islander heritage. Music (vocal or instrumental), dance, martial arts, or improv experience are all assets, not required. Previews in April 2019, performances May 3-4-5 at the Lyceum Space Theatre in Horton Plaza. Stipend paid; non-union.
